Intel (NASDAQ:INTC): Intel is set to release its next wave of processors for tablets in the second half of next year: the Cherry Trail and Willow Trail processors, the former of which is supposed to be shipping samples by the end of this year. The tablets will support Windows 8.1 and Android 4.2. The company also plans to launch its new smartphone operating system next year, as well.
AMD (NYSE:AMD): AMD’s next-generation graphics cards, codenamed “Hawaii,” are due to ship in October, and virtually nothing is known about them. The codename is also disputed, with “Curacao” being another possibility. “Hawaii” could potentially belong to either the Sea or Volcanic Island line of products.
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA): Nvidia has formed an alliance with game developer Ubisoft to raise performance metrics on game franchises including Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag, and Watch Dogs. The companies hope that through their partnership they are better able to utilize technology possessed by both firms in order to create Hollywood-level graphics experiences in many of these games.
