Intel (NASDAQ:INTC): Intel has sped up the release of its new Avoton chip to Wednesday, electing not to delay the chip until its upcoming conference, later this month. The chip, which succeeds Intel’s Centerton chip, is targeted toward microservers, setting up a battle between Intel and current microserver chip powerhouse ARM.

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA): Taiwan’s National Communications Commission was the intended recipient of a new Android tablet designed by Nvidia when photos of the device were leaked to the Internet. Though its dimensions are now known, its audience remains more mysterious, with rumors indicating that it could either be a consumer or developer device. Either way, the tablet likely uses a processor similar to the Tegra 4 reference tablet that Nvidia has already released.

Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD): Advanced Micro Devices announced that it will begin sending ARM server chips to manufacturers to undergo testing in the first quarter of 2014. The chips will act as an alternative to x86 chips, with AMD claiming that the ARM’s improved power efficiency will be just one reason why the ARM chips will eventually surpass their x86 counterparts.
