The device comes with a Tegra 4 processor, a 5-inch touch display, and powerful speakers. Weighing in at over a pound, the device can be a bit clunky, but it handles well, the review says. In addition, reviewers found the Shield’s gaming potential to be underdeveloped, as it is one of few devices that could explore the realm of games controlled both by a touchscreen and by traditional button-based controls.
Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM): Gizmodo had a chance to check out Qualcomm’s Toq, a smart watch that carries many of the features of a smartphone. Particularly surprising was the device’s lightness, weighing in at no more than a typical plastic watch. This wearability could make it a significant favorite over other, more bulky or conspicuous smart gear that is in the works, the blog said. Unfortunately, the device is unlikely to make major splashes in the public marketplace, as a limited online sale is probably going to be the only venue to purchase the product.
Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD): The Trustonic Trusted Execution Environment may soon be available to those with CPUs made by AMD, according to a deal between AMD and Trustonic. The deal will allow AMD to offer top-of-the-line security features to end-users and to larger organizations such as corporations and industry groups.
