NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA): NVIDIA’s Tegra TAB is slated to come in two different models, one of which will come with an HDMI port and a stylus to support such features as writing and sketching. Photos of the TAB models came out as they passed through the FCC’s certification process.
Intel (NASDAQ:INTC): Shipping out today from Intel was a batch of Haswell processors, some of which feature a consumption of power as low as 4.5 watts. The chips can offer up to 50 percent increased battery life from previous models, and, though they are designed for tablets and laptop-tablet hybrids, they can also be used in laptops where they are slated to draw far more power than in tablets.
Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM): Qualcomm will be using its Halo system, which wirelessly charges batteries in electric cars as part of the FIA Formula E racing series. The vehicles can run as fast as 130 miles per hour on city streets, and also feature rapid acceleration as part of the racing circuit. One potential danger is that cars will still run low on battery, which could force some drivers to switch cars mid race.
